Lately, I’ve left myself notes saying “kill her” & “must kill soon” & “too long since death happened?”
Tonight I had an urge to add a note saying: “These notes are for book. I’m not a killer! :)”
Personally, I think the smiley face really helps that sound more believable … or happily delusional? Hard to say at this point...

Balancing acts
In my experience, it’s not the writing that eats your time, soul, & sanity. I love writing. It’s, by far, the best part of my job. What kills my time is the miscellaneous Other Stuff we need to do. The worst part sometimes is the stepping back & seeing that yes, there are typically reasons for each of those damn emails, but some days I think they breed in the inbox.

A: When a producer options a novel(or novels), he or she has the control. I’ve read & given notes on the Wicked Lovely script (several times), but project is ultimately handled by the producers & director....
Wicked Lovely film update
The Wicked Lovely film folks tell me that I can now share that the film is back on track and moving forward. If you’ve been following our journey to the screen (over 3 years so far!), you know that the project had gone into turn-around in late 2011. The producers never gave up, & over the past few months now things are really starting to move forward again. More news in the coming...
